In Daoist practice, the five elements of Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, and Fire mirror the microcosm of the human body and the macrocosm of nature. In this meditation, we use these elements to heal and balance our internal energies.
In this gentle Qigong sequence, we stretch and soften the lines of tension often associated with lower back pain. Fluid somatic movements are used to train the softness to continue into daily life.
Swimming Dragon Qigong works on strength and flexibility, especially that of the spine. We use fluid swimming motions, as well as stimulating dynamic opposition exercises that twist, stretch, and strengthen the spine, muscles, ligaments, and internal organs. It ends with a flowing moving meditation to gather and circulate Chi.
This is an introductory class for those new to or curious about QIgong: the art of mindful movement and self-healing. This is a gentle practice that is mainly done standing, although those who need can practice from a chair.
This meditation focuses on learning that all existence is the flow of consciousness through the Gunas, or attributes of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space. You will connect with each element's qualities as expressed in the body and mind to support balance in your day-to-day life.
